The Association is fortunate to have an extensive range of archive material and which is being constantly expanded. There are numerous reasons for this.  There are three bound copies of the School Magazine from the first issue of 1916 to the final issue of 1961. One set is held in Crosby Library and I have the other two sets. They are a useful source of material. For some reason, no School Magazines were produced during the last few years of the School's existence. Nor were many 'official' photographs taken.  So there is a real gap in our records. We also have copies of the Old Boys' Magazines and the Crosby Library is also given two copies each year.  There is also and extensive collection of photographs, programmes, leaflets, tickets etc which have been presented to  our archives by Old Boys.  New material is always welcome.

The Diamond Jubilee Exhibition  on the 12th
December 1998 provided the opportunity for over 100 Old  Boys and friends to view some of the memorabilia and tour the school. The School, now an Adult Education Centre, welcomes visits
from Old Boys and the staff are very helpful.

The advent of computer technology and the rapid
expansion of the Internet and the World Wide Web has made my job as editor & archivist much easier in recent years. A generation of 'silver surfers'  is all too willing to communicate and  from around the world Old Boys are in contact with the Association and each other. The annual increase in the number of pages in the Magazine is proof of that.
The rapid expansion of the 'Friends Reunited' site
appears to indicate the popularity of former pupils wishing to maintain contact with each other .
Ironically, of the 350+ Old Boys currently listed on that site, only 60 are 'members' of the Association. An increasing number of Old Boys are arranging to meet up with each other either for a meal or a drink and this is to be welcomed. What is available in the archives is a list for each year of entry into the School from 1944-61 together with the House each boy was assigned to on entry. Copies are available - it may help to jog a few memories. Just ask!
